Pasadena YWCA
Rehabilitation Study

  • Southern California

In 2010 ARG completed a rehabilitation study of the Julia Morgan-designed Pasadena YWCA in the Civic Center Historic District of Pasadena. The building was analyzed by ARG architects, historians, and conservators to produce recommendations for the stabilization of the National Register-listed building, which had been damaged extensively due to years of vacancy and deferred maintenance. As part of the rehabilitation study, ARG led a consultant team that included a structural engineer, building systems engineer, and code analyst. A qualified contractor provided a cost estimate. The multidisciplinary team provided crucial planning information to the City of Pasadena for their efforts toward the future adaptive reuse of the building.
