Los Angeles Union Station
- Southern California
ARG began working at LA Union Station in 2008 with the preparation of a feasibility study and design guidelines for tenant improvements from pre-design through construction. Recently, ARG designed two new stores and three free-standing retail kiosks in the Passenger Concourse. Previously, the historic terminal had insufficient retail options for the station’s increasing ridership. The new retail spaces successfully address the historic setting in size, scale, and materials, while introducing much-needed amenities for the evolving public transit station. Early in the design process, ARG gained community and regulatory agency support for the project by engaging and meeting with the Los Angeles Conservancy and the City of Los Angeles’ Office of Historic Resources.
