Hollywood Palladium

  • Southern California

The Hollywood Palladium was designed by Gordon Kauffman and opened in late 1940. Throughout its history, the building has served as a concert venue and housed multiple award programs. ARG served as the Architect of Record for storefront and entrance renovations, which included building system upgrades, seismic reinforcement and coordination of a new addition. The exterior was restored to its original 1940 appearance, including an animated neon blade sign, decorative spandrel glass and rehabilitated ticket booths. Many sustainable elements were used in the project, including a cool roof, local materials and low-VOC paint. The Hollywood Palladium restoration and rehabilitation project received a 2009 Los Angeles Conservancy award.
